What is food traceability?
Food traceability is the ability to follow the path of a food product and its ingredients across the whole supply chain, from raw material to the end consumer, identifying the origin of each batch and its destination at any point.
It's a legal requirement (EC Regulation 178/2002) and the basis for executing fast, targeted product recalls when an issue arises.
