A MES (Manufacturing Execution System) is software that manages and controls manufacturing operations in real time, connecting ERP planning with execution on the plant floor. It records what's being produced, how, and with which resources at any given moment.
It complements the ERP by adding process traceability, quality control and performance data right at the line.
