GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) is an international initiative that recognizes and harmonizes the leading food safety certification schemes, such as IFS, BRCGS or FSSC 22000. It doesn't certify companies directly — it validates which standards meet its criteria.

Its recognition helps a certification get accepted by international retailers under the principle of “certified once, accepted everywhere.”
