What is an internal audit?
An internal audit is the evaluation an organization performs on its own quality or food safety management system, to check compliance before external audits take place. It's carried out by qualified staff who are independent of the area being audited.
It catches deviations early, measures how mature the system is, and prepares the plant for certification.
